Gosh I am tired!!!!

After spending all day saturday shopping, and in all places quilt shops, I was exausted.
But then sunday rolls around and I spent it sewing. Now I really am exauste.

I wasn't able to do all what I wanted.

These are pj pants that I started making for my grandchildren. Very quick to sew.
I actually cut out eight pj's in all. So do get four this far was pretty good.

I made this drape to cover a small closet in the spare bedroom. JoAnn's had a 50% off on everything in the store and this piece of drapery was calling me. I know, it is funny, but I heard it.

This wizard of oz quilt I finally got the binding on. It is now ready to wrap up. It will be a gift for my DH's niece. She graduates the end of next month from high school, and I thought this would make a nice gift to take with her to college in the fall.

Oh and I was going to use this serger to do the seams on the pj's, but it came unthreaded. And it seems to be a bit of a puzzle to thread it. Time to get out the instructions. What a pain! I bought this older serger last month. It really is a nice machine, and it was a very good deal. But still need to figure out how to use it. I don't know what I was thinking today, pulling this out and trying to just start it up and sew. Silly me! ok ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I reading the instructions.

Quiet sunday morning

Well it is sunday morning and all is quiet right now. I have been at my daughter's house all weekend so no sewing is really getting done. Some hand work that needed to be finished, but only when the boys are in bed for the night.
My daughter is spending the weekend with her husband in the hospital while grandma spends some quality time with the grandsons. Such good boys.
Right now we are eating breakfast and getting ready for church. The oldest who is 5 has sunday school soon and the youngest, 3 will be with grandma for church.
Yesterday was a filled day with McDonald's and play time. Not sure what today will bring, but it is very nice outside, so I am sure it will include some outside activities.
The 2009 BOM quilt is officially done. All handwork done, and the lable is on. I started my bug pincushion. The embrodery work is done and once I get home it will need to be sewed together.

Well that is it for sewing this weeknd, unless I get some time before bed tonight. It doesn't matter, I enjoy my time with the grandsons, and even get some spoiling time in.

Tomorrow night is my Thimbleberries club meeting , much tyo take for show and tell.

Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend is full. Full of family, full of laughs, full of fun, and most important full of love.
Our grandsons came to stay with us this weekend. Their father has been in the hospital for over a week now. His doctors found a 2 inch diameter tumor on his brain, and he needed surgery. We are very thankful that is was a benign tumor. But the removal did contribute to more problems for him and his family. And he will need more extensive care while he is still in the hospital and when he gets home. My daughter has been spending alot of time with her husband and we find that we are spending some bonding time with our grandsons.

Ivan is the oldest, and he can sense the changes going on. But he enjoyed his time with grandpa and grandma. We decorated eggs in anticipation of the easter bunny coming during the night to hide their eggs.

Nickolas enjoyed coloring his eggs and is very excited to have the easter bunny visit.
No sewing this weekend, no time. Easter dinner tomorrow, youngest daughter and her husband to join us, and the boys should be here till the evening.
But what a great fun weekend!
