No Response???

Just finished up cleaning all the supplies, totes, and yes even products from the table show in Wisconsin Dells. Not real please with the organizers of the event. The set up was very bad and no accomodations were set up for the what if's.

Like what will happen if it rains and half of the booths in the tent are on the down slop of the pavement? And what will happen if it rains and we didn't check the tent out for leaks? Hmmm. Well as you can imagine, we arrive to out booth sunday morning to find that our booth was sitting in a water hole and the tent above us had a leak, and guess what? It was raining. Now we are cold, wet, in the dark and selling damaged goods.

Yes we packed up and left, no sales for sunday. So now I have been trying to contact the organizers of the event to register my complaint. I guess they are busy with all the other people who want to register a complaint. I have left three messages so far, and still no response.

Sometimes you just have to call it a day and move on. Nothing was ruined beyond repair, everything cleaned up well. And I am not the worst for wear. So it's done, move on.

Out of Flake Out

Well if you put aside the fact of how crowed it was, or the fact that it was freezeing and the heater didn't work very well in this huge tent...............

Or the fact that the lightening was horrible, and left most of the venders in the dark with no electricity...........it wasn't so bad.......
I met some interesting people, and made some new friends. I did hand out quite a bit of business cards for my sister, however I only sold a few things.

But the snow scultures were unbelievable! This was one of the many many scultures in the compitition. Tomorrow is the judging and we will see who the winner is.
The hotel room is lovely, and very cozy. My sister is pretty sick with a bad cold and spent most of the time in the hotel room rather that with me in the booth.
I just came back from the gas station to get her some Ben and Jerry's. Hopefully she will feel better soon, I think the Ben and Jerry's helps.
Back again to the booth tomorrow morning. The craft show runs until 2:00pm. I should be home by supper tommorrow.

2010 Wisconsin Dells Flake Out Festival

Just a quick note before I leave for the weekend in Wisconsin Dells, WI. The 20th annual Flake Out Festival is set to begin at 6pm tonight. And I am meeting my sister there to get a booth set up for her embroidery. There will be a huge art and craft sale that will run for two days.
They also will have snow and ice sculting competition and bands and plenty of activities for all ages.
Should be a fun weekend.
Hope to have some exciting news to tell you when I get back.

Nothing much, what's new with you?

Well I didn't have an entire weekend to myself. And the one coming up doesn't look good either. But I did manage to get some things done in mysewing room.

These are 4 inch squares that I got together for my girlfriend. This whittles away at my stash turning them into useful pieces that she can enjoy. I gave her a pattern some months ago. And from time to time send her a squishy package in the mail to keep adding blocks to her scrap quilt. She is not a quilter, but I am slowing working on her and she should be one soon.

And this panel in my stash, well I finally figured out what I am was going to do with it. It made a very nice table topper. My DH fell in love with it and asked for it to go on the table. Machine quilting on it was fun, and I needed the practice.

That was the extent of my sewing this past weekend. I have another table runner cut out and ready to go, so hopefully amoung all the other things I got going this coming weekend, I will get to it.
I would love to join Judy over at patchworktimes.com and her quiltathon going on for the weekend. Maybe I will be able to catch some of it.

Not into 2010

Well here it is 2010 and many of us are not ready to write "2010" on our checkbook register yet. I'm not. Even at the office, I need to recheck myself and my dates, still want to write 2009.
And I suspect that it will take several months before I am used to writing 2010.

And don't get me started on my New Year's resolution. Like everyone else, my New Year's resolution only lasts a couple of months. Two years ago I did keep one. I quite smoking. But now it is the weight gain that has me fuming. So another lose weight this year resolution will begin. So far so good, but then again we are only 6 days into the new year.

But I also made a resolution to finish up the UFO's sitting around and all the other kits that are waiting for my attention. And the only material I will buy is the backing materials to finish the quilts. We will see how that goes. I have been looking at quilting magazines and ofcourse reading Judy's blog and I am feeling tempted. Oh yeah, I signed up for yet another Thimbleberries BOM club.
Well it is only 6 days into the year........................
