Countdown to wedding

Two weeks from tomorrow my baby will be married.
I can hardly believe it is happening. All my babies are grown and out of the nest. They all have lives of their own.
[ sob ]
Makes me feel old.
So all fittings are done, dresses pressed and ready to go. Bill has a new suit and it will be ready in a couple days to pick up once alterations are done. We have a sitter lined up for our dogs, hotel room all reserved. The time is set for wedding rehersal and the rehersal dinner aftwards. So all we have to do is remain calm. Which is easier said than done. Just ask the bride. You don't even want to go there!
This weekend will be another weekend traveling to Green Bay. This time I am meeting up with my sister to assist me with some binding work. Just going to hang out and get some sewing tips from my big sister. Maybe a quick run to My Favorite Quilt Shop, and who knows what else.
Sunday will be a day spent with my two grandsons. We are going to the zoo. Just a relaxing weekend. Hopefully!

Things you can get done when the Hubby is fishing

Oh my goodness. Alone time with no running. Wow how did I get so lucky. Let's see what to do first..................hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I know. My stash needs cleaning. These scraps are piling up and something needs to be done with them so they are more organized. So I deceided to cut them into piles of 2 1/2 inch strips and 4 inch squares. I am sure I can come up with plenty of ideas for scraps that size.

Next my BOM for this month needs to be done by the next meeting. Actually I have plenty of time, but what the heck. I got a whole day to myself. So I got everything together and cut them all out. Then I just sewed sewed sewed.

This if my block that I make with the fat quarters we are given each month. All these stars will make at least one quilt if not two.

And here is my BOM for July. Finished and packaged up to wait till the next thimbleberries meeting. Now, looking around here, I can still work on some more things. So many unfinished projects and projects to start. I think I will pick something out to at least get cut out.
My evenings have been filled with the hand work on the wedding quilt. I have one more side to go and it is ready for it's label. I am pleased with how it is turning out, however, I am pretty sick of the color pink by now.

Back to work Monday

Well here it is monday, and it's back to work for the world.
This was a babysitting weekend, and a running around weekend all in one.

I needed to run to Green Bay for my daughter's final fitting on her wedding dress. It is so beautiful and I am sure the tears will flow when she walks down the isle in that dress.

I also needed to get my grand daughter to green bay for her final fitting as well.

Here she is trying to stand still in her dress for alterations. As you can see, this was not so successful. Isn't she a cutie???????
So the work is being finished up on that project. My sister volunteered to make this dress and I think she did a wonderful job. Actually so does Emma, this is her princess dress.
I did manage to get some time in working on the hand work on my daughters quilt. Only had the time actually while my two grand daughters napped. Still can't show it on my blog because of the bride checking it out from time to time. But it will be on my blog soon.

Back from Vacation

Whew!!!!!!!!!!!! What a vacation! So relaxing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We did some fishing, some walking, and just a bunch of nothing.

This was our view from our campsite. 9 days relaxing by the lake was just wonderful. No phones, no housework, no offices!!!!!!!!!!!! That alone was worth it. Bill and I did not miss our offices at all. I am sure we will find out tomorrow morning how well they did with out us.

Oh yes, here is Bill, giving me that look. You know the one that says "Sure honey I did agree to take you on a road trip today, but I didn't think it was going to involve all quilt shops!"

He was a real trooper, spending the day driving me around to search out quilt shops.
And we did findthree very cute shops.

This is the Cutting Edge in Weston, Wisconsin. Such a lovely shop. And we had to travel to Antigo, Wisconsin to see the other shop that The Cutting Edge owns.

This shop was a little bigger, so I found myself spending a little more than I did at the first shop. I promised myself that my stash was very big, and I had projects that I probably won't get to till next year; so I would not buy any more fabric or patterns. Oh well, as if I didn't need the few items I picked up at these two shops...................

But then when we got to Tigerton, Wisconsin to this shop called Pinery Quilts, I just went wild. Now I will have projects that will take me into the year 2011..........My God, what was I thinking!!!!!!!!!!

Not to worry, later in the evening we did something that Bill wanted to do. We went to a casino and did a little gambling. I surprised myself by walking out of the casino with enough to pay for my shopping excursion plus a little extra. You don't want to know how Bill did. He still is pretty grumpy about it.................Oh well, it was an activity that he wanted to do. I just went along.
